This track opens with audio snippets of the wonderful Rik Mayall's Alan B'stard, a character so ridiculously selfish and spiteful, I keep expecting him to succeed Jeremy hunt.
This is followed by the classic line from Monty Python's 'Holy Grail'.
(I flatter myself as beeing more of the mud spattered peasant, questioning the system, rather than the sneering B'stard and his bourgeoisie rhetoric.)
The track itself is largely about my frustration with the amount of people who seem capable of ignoring the wrongs going on in this country and in the wider world, and are content to pretend none of it is as a result of this apathy,
In a perfect world, that would be a fair choice I suppose, but we do not have that luxury, and the fact is, we wouldn't have endured 10 years of austerity if people had taken the time to educate themselves on what they were voting for.
Whilst Cease2Xist continues to improve with every release, I have several personal ties to this album, and it was truly a great introduction to the furious energy of Cease2Xist The Open Eyed Dreamer
Like Cease2Xist, this release is not necessarily MIxe1's best work, but was my introduction to the beautiful songwriting and haunting words of Mixe1. 'Breathe' is still one of the best songs out there The Open Eyed Dreamer
Defeat offer a snarling interpretation of early EBM, with a modern production, and a passionate delivery. Seek Help was an album I was close to during production, and is rock solid throughout. The Open Eyed Dreamer
